Never trust a " So Called " Friend.

I've been missing the last few days as I had to dash off up to Luton to our House. Stevie got an Email from our tennant saying he'd left the house. No notice, hadn't paid the rent for two months and utility bills on the mat when we got in. The place was an absolute tip, looked like it hadn't been cleaned since we left it in April, empty beer bottles everywhere, some of his possessions we had to bag up, even the bed was not cleaned or changed. we spent all Friday night and Saturday vaccuming and cleaning the whole house. We have already contacted our lawyer as we know where he works and where his family home is. This by the way is someone I've known for about 15 years, whose has house and dog sat for us on numerous occasions and who I have been to nearly 200 gigs with. So this total fuck over has come as a complete surprise and has shaken my faith in people to the core. The upshot of all this is , if we can't sell the house by April ( luckily the rent on this house in Dorset is paid until 17th april ) we might have to move back there as we can't afford both. I am absolutely seething, as you might guess, but Stevie has made me promise not to call, text , email, find the C***, as she wants to do this legally and by the book.

That sucks big time! All this time you've been enjoying the country life thinking your house was in good hands and it's been the complete opposite. Good on Stevie to make you see sense and do it properly as opposed to your (or my) way!!

Oh Roger that is so sad...Sorry for you and Stevie...She is right do this legally and if you don't feel satisfied after its all done then go kick his ass.....

I hope you had a sizeable deposit from him? I didn't realise you were renting in Dorset...thought you'd bought it. Obviously I got my wires crossed somewhere.

And, no doubt, this will have put you off trying to re-rent it out? Did you have a signed tenancy agreement? If so then the legal route is the way. If not then a nice friendly visit with Mr Baseball bat may be in order...

Yes we did get a deposit and he siged a tenancy agreement. So it's the legal route. Although I know where he works and am friends with a lot of his colleagues, I may have promised not to phone him, but I didn't promise not to phone his workmates to let them know what an utter shit he is.

Good luck with all of that Roger. I wonder what is going on with that so called friend to react this way? That isn't normal.

You'll like this too. He left a load of his stuff in the house, so we bagged it all up and dumped it 'round his Mothers' house. This included a stash of porn that we made sure was in the top bag and untied. Wonder if she looked inside to see what he had left behind ??
