I'm officially cured !! Saw my consultant surgeon and had an X-ray today. The break has fused back together nicely and my surgeon has discharged me from the out patients. He did say that it will be another year before it is completely solid but doesn't need to see me again. Just down to me now to regain my strength and work on getting rid of the limp.

That is just amazing. That they can mend bones like that and give you back your life after such a severe injury....

Is it true you need a special certificate from your doctor stating you now have a metal pin in your leg for when you fly?

I'm sure you really don't want multiple intimate 'body searches' everytime you leave the UK and then on your return as the alarm goes off!!!!...

I'm afraid it IS true. I can apply to my G.P. to get a card that confirms who I am and what injury/implants I have. Can't wait to fly and see what happens !!!
