What is Marmite?

Hmmm...

Beef extract spread...like Vegemite or Bovril (if you've heard of them). With Marmite you either love it or hate it there's NO middle ground...

Not sure if there is an American equivalent...

It's Yeast extract not beef ( that's Bovril ). A byproduct of the brewery in Burton.

Julie eats kimchi often. Pickled cabbage. Yuck! She learned about it from her Thai roommate in Hawaii, during the seventies

A bit like Sauerkraut. I don't mind that. Funny story about Sauerkraut. A friend and I were at Shea Stadium watching a Mets game, and as you do we got a hot dog. My mate insisted that his was smothered in, what he thought were onions, it turned out to be Sauerkraut. The look on his face when he took a bite was classic !! Very Happy

Having a German Grandama (RIP) and an Austrian Grandad I am very well accustomed to such products. I do like a good german sausage smothered in ketchup, mustard & sauerkraut!

Kimchi smells like something went bad a very long time ago..I think it is one of those dishes you really need to have a taste for..

I went to a party last night and they are bacon hooked people and served chocolate dipped bacon amongst other things...Talk about a flavor shock..Salty and sweet...

The kids.."21" seems so long ago.. introduced me to a Dirty Shirley.....you really need to like Vodka for that....

Kimchi is spoiled cabbage which has been pickled. A delicacy served to the workers of the Great Wall of China by the ruthless Emperor Chin, a.k.a. the "Yellow Emperor"
