EastEnders star Wendy Richard dies

Actress Wendy Richard has lost her battle with cancer.

The former EastEnder died in the Harley Street Clinic in London with her husband John Burns by her side. She was 65.

Her agent Kevin Francis said: "She was incredibly brave and retained her sense of humour right to the end."

Richard starred in EastEnders for more than 20 years but became a household name before that in department store sitcom Are You Being Served?.

I actually think it's a shame she'll always be associated with Eastenders...a dull depressing program.

To me she'll remain the young pretty Miss Brahms in 'Are You Being Served?'

R.I.P Wendy....I LOVED her in "Are you being served"

Eastenders has its moments but on the whole, very depressing!!

While Are You Being Served was well funny, Im old enough to remember that

Whilst it's sad she's died she was a very heavy smoker so she can't have expected much less. Still R.I.P.

However compare her dignified death to the forthcoming death of Jade Goody and Wendy looks like a saint.
