Anyone seen this film from a few years back.

I love this film, reminds me of my youth. If Steel Dragon had been a real band I'm sure I'd have been into them.

Plus the soundtrack is awesome!

Anyone else like this movie or are there other Rock n Roll movies you like?

Can't say I've heard of this one? Is it worth buying on DVD?

Other RnR films...hmm, sure there's some but have to give it some thought?

Do The Beatles films count? 'Cos they crack me up...'Yellow Submarine' & 'Help' are really funny!

All the 'Steel Dragon' songs are awesome. They're sung by either Jeff Scott Soto or the bloke from Steelheart.

Indeed he did. Plus Jason Bonham was the drummer and Zakk Wylde was on guitar.

Blas Elias (Of Slaughter) was also in it as were Nick Cantanese and Brian Vander Ark who've been in bands such as Black Label Society & Verve Pipe (Kiss fans should be familiar with them).

This is one of my favorite all time movies....

I thought the music was great! It was just cheesy enough to be entertaining....
I haven't seen it in a while but since you reminded me it would be a good weekend watch.

couple little trivia thingies:

originally the working title was "Metal Gods" there is a direct nod to Rob Halford when you see the mansion scene and they show the stage outfit with all the leather and studs so with that and the judas Priest song with the same name. Add to that the first lead singer turns out to be gay they changed it so it wouldn't be considered a Judas Priest bio.

Second the song Stand Up was written by Sammy Hagar!

Love this film....lots of real talent are in this which makes it all good...

knew you'd love this film too... Wink Very Happy

As you say it's loosley based on Tim 'Ripper' Owens and his replacing Rob Halford in Priest back in the 90's.

You are correct about Sammy writing Stand Up. I think Twiggy Ramirez (sp) wrote a couple of tracks too.

I saw that at the show when It came out and I still LOVE it. At first I was like Mark Wahlberg, what?? With all the Rockers why him. He sorta grew on me though.

This cover band by my house does Stand Up...That song is a real crowd pleaser!! cheer
