| So sorry to hear it, but when you take a look at everything he accomplished, everything he invented or developed, his contributions to both the recording and performance sides of the music industry, and the accolades he acquired in his lifetime, multiplied by the number of lives he touched, a call for celebration makes better sense than mourning! Thankyou, Les Paul. May you rest in peace. http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=425984>1=28102

| Well, golly, I didn't have anything to do with it! You're welcome, Matty. I haven't read the article, but, I think his birth name was Paulofson, or something closer to that. I have a DVD somewhere, about him and the guitars. | |

| Yessir, they are quite nice, and just when you needed a little more warmth out of your guitar! I have a '74 Custom and a "somewhere around" '96 Smartwood ( I think). What's funny is that you want to get an older guitar for the lack of water in the body, which provides better resonation, so I bought the Cherry sunburst '74. Then, I found the blonde Smartwood, and it sounds very much like the Custom! Ofcourse, it is a little heavier, and the frets are in much better shape! Then, I have my personal first guitar, the '83 Explorer. I'm in a very good place with these. I also have a Guild acoustic/ electric. Genz-Benz Tribal 60 w 2x12 cab. Weird. What was the question, again? | |

| I, for one, am grateful to Les for multiple -track recording, reverb, and ridiculously fast guitar phrases in the major scale. O! Those guitars, and an ear for wood! | |
