IMO I doubt there are few if any prisoners in Guantanamo Bay that have done nothing. I only speak for myself but I don't want them here on our soil doing God knows what or better yet..Come here claim political assylum and we get their entire family here and end of paying for their lives for the rest of ours....I don't know what the right answer is but i don't like this one!

Guantanamo Bay..I don't know anyone else have any ideas...I think you guys in the U.K. have some room don't you?

Either way it is all a mess.
I agree...the probability is they are there for a reason. Which is why it is strange if they have the evidence to imprison them, why don't they charge them and send them to trial? No country can shout about human rights then treat people in the manner they are complaining about.

Problem is now it's going to close what is going to happen to the inmates? If they are just deported, what's to stop them planning future terrorist attacks? I agree in that I wouldn't want them on my soil either with all that could lead to. A couple of former inmates have arrived back in the UK (they are UK citizens so had the right to return) and they are subject to security orders. But still it is un-nerving.

And no, Chrissy...we don't want them anymore than you do! The UK is closed!!!! We're only a little island you know!!!!

And Frethead...as Mary said, you have no need to explain yourself. Everyone is entitled to their opinions...and the right to voice them...that is what differs the West from the dictator states.

Don't feel too sorry for our American buddies...'cos our own country is also in a right fu*king mess.

It really is very sad. So far the Govn has bailed out the banks to the amount of 1.5 TRILLION pounds, which is equivalent to the total economic output of the UK for an ENTIRE year!... affraid

And the tax payer is going to cover the banks expected losses due to bad loans and the like to the tune of 500 million pounds so they can carry on doin business.

I've got to say...this kinda pisses me off... Evil or Very Mad

READ THIS:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29392964/?GT1=43001

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation… You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931-2005

Unfortunately, I think the Obama administration WANTS things to get much worse so that we will bend to his will of complete government control and everyone is a government teat-sucker...that way he'll have a one-party system of socialism/communism.

Just sayin..

Sense has prevailed...

I know you should take all politicians with a huge pinch of salt, Obama & Romney alike, but Romney is a total idiot. Saw an amazing video in which he said if he had the choice he would have let the US car industry in Detroit go bankrupt, whereas Obama signed a cheque for a massive bailout to save the Detroit car industry. Sure it was something like $1 billion.

That loan saved the US car industry along with 1000's of jobs and as a result the industry has survived to a point where that loan has been paid back!

And Romney would have let 'market forces' do what they do and Detroit would have colapsed under the mass uuemployment. Oh and Romney seems rather kean on 'outsourcing' US jobs to foreign countries.

Personally, I think Obama is at least trying to make life better for many Americans (unpopular as these policies may be with many) whereas Romney is just another 'I want the power' type fool.

thats why I'm voiting for him...

Yes Romney is a huge fan of outsourcing. His investment company Bain is known for buying up American companies and then ship the labor over to China and India. I really have no respect for him. He has cut all veterans benefits in his state and thinks all veterans insurance should be privatized!!! What a cart load of crap!! You have a veteran who has put his life on the line for his country and you want him to take care of his own medical insurance. F...you Mitt

His running mate Paul Ryan is the biggest pile of crap out there. This is the radical conservative who thinks companies should decide if their insurance will pay for birth control for its female employees and beleives in the notion of acceptable rape.

Just knowing there is a chance he could run our country sways my vote to Obama.

Im sure there is a lot of people out there who do not want Obama in office another 4 years. His track record is not good.

But with thats said it depends on why people are voting. I really don't care for either of those 2 but Obama is definitely the lesser of two evils.

Pete you and Ruth were on the East coast only and Romney is Govenor of Mass. so maybe he does have more pull over there I don't know. I am also getting the impression that people are saying they want Obama out but when push comes to shove they will vote him to stay. I know that sounds weird but its hard for a lot of people to say their opinion out loud. We were all..me included so against having him in the white house in the first place and I think a lot of people have a hard time saying they were wrong. Just guessing.

Polls from Mass. btw put Obama ahead of their own govenor so that says a lot.

The president really slammed Mitt in the last debate and that was critical so this race is going to be tight..

fingers crossed obama stays.

Now you have me started!!!! If Obama wins this will be one of the most sucessful terms for a US president. Why? Becuse he cannot be realected after this. Congress spent the entire 4 years making it so Obama would not look ood for re-election. If they do it again they will be the ones looking bad and their seats come up for election this time. America is watching..

Here is the big problem no one seems to be addressing. Its the elephant in the room.

We have congress in session right now that has gone against our president in every way possible. Bunch of a-holes! Well there is a tax bill sitting there that needs attention. It has suspended increased taxes on the middle class..me till the end of this year. If congress does not get this agreed on and taken care of by December 31 we are all F------ big time.
Lord I pray they get it together..

Interesting that this rarely gets talked about. I sure wish people would pay more atention to what their representatives are doing and less on what the president is doing. Congress runs this country!!!!!!

They mentioned something about that on Breakfast news but I didn't get to hear the full story. The bit I did pick up was what you said, if it doesn't get passed then America has a HUGE problem, leading to another recession, and the jist was if America has a problem then it will filter down to the rest of world. Again.

They did seem to think that iut would get passed tho cos the implications of it not being are just too big to contemplate. Lets hope.
