The Kruise on Halloween is kinda cool. Playing on Thanksgiving would be a logistical nightmare (and I guess the band like time off too)...

Mine still hasn't arrived yet. I bought the 2 vinyl+cd option, the vinyl keeps being delayed. Last release date I was given is 1st Sept.

In no way did I expect it too be as good as it is.

Proper songs, great melodies, great hooks, rockin guitars. Not kean On 'Toys' & 'The Joker' offers nothing on the original (which I never really liked anyway) but other than that AWESOME album.

I odered the UK/Euro digi version and was well pissed off that it DIDN'T include the unedited 'Gimmie A Feelin'. So my lurrrrvely wife got sent on a hunt for me and I ended up with the USA digi including the full version of 'Gimmie'...PLUS the regular CD with the free guitar pick!!!

She treats me good...

OH! And Kiss fans complaining about lyrics?

Seriously? The lyrics on Monster are cringeworthy and anyways, I never expected The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway from Ace!

I don't expect Ace tunes to be lyrical masterpieces...I expect rockin tunes...and he HAS delivered. In spades.

Shame he is talkin about a covers album for his next effort tho, never a good sign.

AND!!!! I also want to rant and mention!!!

After all of GS/PS crap about wanting to create a classic sounding Kiss album (twice now!) and failing in epic proportions, to me the reason for that would seem to be that ACE IS the classic sound. Paul & Gene might have written most of the Kiss classic tunes, but Ace gave them that distinctive sound.

His solo's are distinctively ACE sounding and his playing style was a HUGE part of the Kiss sound.

I also think Gimmie A Feeling would have fitted perfectly onto HTH or DTK. That riff is straight outta the 70's!
I Wanna Hold You would have been a top tune on Unmasked...proper power pop tune! Catchy as hell...
What Every Girl Wants is full on RARO...as good as anything on RARO and in a similiar catchy rock tune theme.

I posted simliar on FB and got ravaged!!

I think I've only listened to Monster twice all the way through and Sonic Boom only gets an airing when I want to hear Say Yeah.

You're right on all counts. I like Monster but the lyrics make me cringe. No worse than anything on Space Invader.
