As I said wanted to do San Fran but the west coast (be nice to see Chrissy on her own turf) was just outta my price range, so i'll have to save up...still can't going back to NYC again.

Yes. Still be nice to get to San Fran and work things out from there. Been to the East Coast loads of times...

Driven from S. F to L.a via Carmel. And we once got the Greyhound from S.F. to Palm Springs (never doing that again !!)

When I was on my trek in 1998 we drove from San Fran to Santa Barbara via Carmel & Monterey, down the Pacific Coast Highway. That was indeed a looooong drive...

We've stayed in Santa Barbara too. Very nice. Very Happy

A good micro-brewery on the main road (can't remember what it's called) and a few interesting music shops too.

I think we camped in Santa Barbara. It was the last stop before LA.

Indeed. We did an over night trip. We just wanted to experience the Famous/Infamous Greyhound Bus. Like I said, now we've done it we'll never do it again.

Not much to tell really. Slept, ate, drank, swam in our pool and sea, sunbathed, drove a bit, shopped a bit, slept some more, walked, discovered the joys of floating on a lilo in the pool..........and repeat. Then came home after two weeks.

Well Ruth & I have booked our summer jaunt for late July/early August...

Up to a hotel just outside of the Galloway national park for a few days, then over to Dumfries for a shindig of some kind, then down to the lake district for another couple of days before heading home...

Should be good!

Ah, holidays..............Good news is that we've just booked a short break in Mallorca to celebrate our 20th (!!!!!) wedding anniversary, bad news is we fly out on the 8th of June thus putting pay to my attending the Wolverhampton Beer Festival. Sorry im sorry
