| I've been trying to get my head around the events of last week and tbh, I'm still kinda unsure. I got given some really good news on Thursday. Where I am working right now (The Insolvency Service) told me that after my month break, which you have to take, they WILL now be taking me back on... HUGE sigh of relief. I literally felt the stress go in a matter of seconds, as my job search is not proving fruitful. But I have to say that seeing as for the previous 8 weeks all the bosses had been telling me that because I'd been there for more than 2 years they couldn't take me back on, due to some really STUPID new policy which the Insolvency service have made -up, and I've been stressed beyond belief it would have been good if they'd sorted that out much sooner. I can't say I'm that impressed with the lack of organisation. Still, don't look a gift horse in the mouth! So I have a job to go back too!!... ... all good... so it seems... THEN! 20 minutes later my boss comes up and says he forgot to tell me something. And goes on to tell me that when I come back I will no longer be on the grade I am presently on and they will bring me back on a lower grade! Or in other words, LESS MONEY. So, I may be working but I am now, almost to the penny, only going to be breaking even each month! Which is better than being £300 down if I was on the dole, but still, it's not a very satisfying feeling knowing I will LITERALLY, be working just to survive. Looks like I really will be on the baked beans, with baked beans diet... The reason? Well after 12 weeks agency staff are now entitled to the same pay as permanent staff. If they kept me on my present grade they would have to pay me @ £17,000 per year but as they have downgraded me they only have to pay me @£14,000. I know I shouldn't be feeling crap about this, cos it IS a job, but as they took 8 WEEKS to sort this out and only told me 1 week before I am due to leave for my break, and to bring me back doing the same job and cut my pay. I'm actually feeling a little agrieved by all this. Anyway, that's what's been happening and if anyone has actually made it to down here and hasn't fallen asleep...I congratulate you for taking an interest in my ever dull life!!!!!!!! | |

| Certainly is a good news/bad news scenario. Keep on looking for that new job, as I've found, it will turn up eventually. | |

Good luck mate! Well, yeah, that is the plan... But even tho they are gonna have me back...I still feel really demoralised. To be downgraded kinda sucks. Especially when it is the same job, team and everything else I will be coming back to. Another employee has told them she won't be coming back cos of the downgrade. But at the end of the day, it's a 'take it on the chin' situation and just get through. But it's leaving a bad taste... C'mon employers!!! Take me on permanently!!!!!! How many CV's does it take!!! | |

| I've been feeling shit ever since we moved back and I've been at Morrisons, I've been stacking shelves F. F. S !!!!!! and for wages that I was earning back in the early 80's !!! But I've stuck with it (moaned like shit all the time and really pissed off Mrs H) and finally landed a job that I know I will enjoy and has a proper living wage attached to it. So chin up, stop wallowing in misery (you've got some good friends and a very special friend on here) and keep searching for the job that you will enjoy both mentally and financially. IT WILL TURN UP !!!!! just be patient !!!......................Rant over. | |

| It will get quiet on here if when Pete gets his new job and I start working "normal hours". We'll all have to set a time when we all log on in the evening. | |
