| Hi folks, I got this of the Kiss forum that Roger, Adam & I also frequent. - Quote :
This afternoon while mowing the lawn our beloved Hairychin slipped down an embankment in his garden and broke his leg in two places. We have just recieved news from Mrs Hairychin in Dorchester hospital that the orthopods will be operating on him later today. Fortunatley he has been tranquilized to the max and I was able to take the the piss without any reprisal. I did suggest that next time he should try to land on his head where no damage will be done . On a serious note fib and tib snapped somewhere between the knee and ankle has gotta hurt big time.We wish him well and will keep you all posted on his progress. - Quote :
- UPDATE!!
Turns out Roger(Hairychin)managed to twist both bones in such a way that the tib & fib were in the opposite position of where they should be!-OUCH!!! They had to dose him up with KETOMINE before they could put him in the ambulance!!
Op tomorrow, with metal pin running from ankle to knee through the centre of the bone. He's really stoned at the moment, but he's looking forward to the time off to catch up with his reading & dvd watching. Don't think he realises whats happened yet.
W & J Get well soon Roger!

| Hey, Roger! If you get this . . . I thought you might like to try a hand at one of my fave time killers. I imagine you'll probably master it in no time with all the meds I hear they're pumping through you. If it's not your cup of tea. O, well! Be well, soon! http://www.wgt.com/register-done.aspx | |

| That's pretty amazing that Roger's kinda mobile already after such a serious op...
He'd have been laid up for weeks a decade ago!
Keep us informed and PM sent...

| Hello my Friends, I'm back !! Been home since Wednesday night but haven't had a chance to get to the laptop. Vistors, Stevie fussing around, sleeping.......etc. but Stevie and her Parents have gone out for the evening so I've got the place to myself to catch up on the web and watch some movies ( I'm going to have plenty of time for that in the coming weeks/months.) Sitting here with my new accessories, a metal rod the length of my lower leg and plates that now make up my ankle. I don't have a lot of memory of what happened except pain , the never to be forgotten sound of my bones breaking , the never want to repeat out of body experience caused by the Ketamine I was given , the texts and phone calls I got from Pete and other friends that made the brief stay in that miserable hospital more bearable and getting home and reading the messages from the wonderful people I know on FMF. Thanks Fret, many hours will be spent on that Golf game. Also thanks for the massage offer. Stevie practices Reki and it is really helping at the moment. It's good to be home. Now for the healing. | |

| Good to hear you're on the mend...
and it is strange how a sound can stay with you...I once got hit by a car when on my push bike and the sound of metal hitting metal will stay with me always. Luckily the car didn't catch my leg but I, according to the driver, did a neat somersault over his bonnet.
Shame I didn't land on my feet tho and good job I have a solid head!
1 of my 9 lives went that day. While I was off on the sick I read in the local newpaper a similar thng happened to some other guy...landed on his his head and broke his neck. Instantly dead.
Makes you think... | |

| Roger so glad you are home and in a full recovery.... Sometimes an injury like this is a great time to regroup, clear your head and walk a different path...When do you start physical therapy?
