Saw Ratt in the rescue roomd in Nottingham last May. Was a brilliant gig in a tiny venue.
Also met the non original members in the pub too, decent down to earth guys.

One of those non original members has since left the band only to be recently replaced by Carlos Cavazo

Detonator was the first Ratt record I ever got. Bought it in Florida in 1990. Great album

Funny you should say that Pete.....General consensus amongst Ratt-Rollers is that it's their least favorite of all the Ratt albums. If you like 'Detonator' than you will surely like the ones before it??

RATT are a class act. 'Invasion Of...' is one of my all time fav albums. Saw them numurous times when they supported Ozzy back in '86. Didn't go for Ozzy...went for RATT. Saw the JB's gig in Dudley last year and they were still brill! The whole band hung out afterwards until around 2am in the club just chatting and chillin'...rare these days.
I'll post some pics of the gig later.
Still own the original Time Coast RATT ep... But not having a record player to play it on anymore is a bummer!...
One thing that I don't get though is why so many awesome US bands just don't really transfer the same popularity to the UK & Europe? Journey, Aerosmith, RATT, Van Halen & even the mighty KISS (along with many more, the list is just too long!!) have never been truely appreciated over this side of the pond...in my opinion anyway.
Anyone got any theories on this? Anyone even agree with me!!!!!...

Hey RFFB,
You prolly got your dates a little mixed UP. Ratt were firmly in place as major headliners by '86. Ratt briefly supported Ozzy in late '83 & early '84 before rapidly increasing popularity forced them off the Ozzy tour & out on their own.
In the States chatting & chilling after the show is becoming more popular these days. As long as it is a club show & not a major arena gig. This is one of the reasons why Upscope prefers the smaller intimate club shows rather than the major tours. Meeting & chatting w/ people you grew UP idolizing is priceless & a lot more likely to happen at a club show.
You could UPgrade that Time Coast EP to CD version?? Problem is it is VERY rare in CD form & will cost you between $50-$75 .......Hey at least you would get to listen to it??
You raise an interesting point about popularity. Don't really have a theory on why. Accessibility & promotion could be reasons though.
Great post btw....

Not in the UK they weren't!!!!... It was Feb 1986 and it was their first trip over here...OZZY brought them over as his support act as he got on so well with them on the US dates you refer to. Remember it well as Motley were touring at around the same time and I travelled the length of the UK following both Motley and the RATT/Ozzy shows at the same time! Great times and even better memories...
Tried to get the Time Coast CD a while back on ebay but when it reached over $100 I chickened out!!
But what you say about RATT being major headliners by '86 in the USA is what made me think about why many US bands just don't have the same success over here. It really is strange.
