Subject: Anvil...The Movie!!! Fri Feb 20, 2009 11:21 am
Saw Lips and the film maker on BBC Breakfast TV yesterday and been reading a lot about this film.
It's actually sounds like a really cool film, made from a real fans point of view. It's even getting good reviews!!
I saw Anvil support Motorhead (I think) around 'Metal On Metal' and at Donington. While I did like the 'MOM' album I didn't really take to them.
But kudos for hangin in there and keepin goin...sign of a true rocker! Even in the face of their last album, apparently, only selling 2,000 copies...the article didn't say in which market tho...hope that ain't worldwide!!!
This is one film I DO want to see...
For old times, here's Metal On Metal!
One of the first songs I learned on guitar...a friend showed me...can only remember the bar chord E bit now!!!

Some say that Anvil were the originators of Thrash Metal!
Can't say I'm a massive fan but I would see the movie, I think it would be an interesting watch
Thanks for the heads up Adam

That's the point tho...they ARE still goin!!!!... Hangin in there by a fine thread, admittedly!
Apparently some people who have seen the film did actually think it was a spoof in the vien of Spinal Tap... I can't say I actually like the music, tho it does hold some fond memories, but for anyband to keep goin after so long in the face of very little success has to given some credit!!!!...
