Here's an obscure Alfred Pennyworth fact to impress your friends with. Alan Napier, who play Alfred in the 60's T.V series was married to Aileen Dickens Hawklsey, who was the great granddaughter of Charles Dickens. I love useless facts like that !! Very Happy Very Happy

Shocked

Bet it wasn't as good as 'The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins'. Very Happy

Favourite Film/TV Alfred?

Alan Napier, Michael Gough or Maurice Micklewhite?

Not that struck with M.M as Alfred. Although I did like M.G in the role I have to go with A.N as I grew up with him as the faithful manservant.

Michael Gough for me. Though I did love Alan Napier. Especially when he dressed up as Batman so Bruce Wayne could appear at the same time...

No. It's tied up in legal issues and ownership rights from hell I believe. You can get the movie but not the series...

Shame.

Aye. It would be nice to watch it again sometime. It is repeated on ITV 4 though.

I'm watching an episode at this moment !!! Very Happy Very Happy I'm confused though. How come they can be rerun on T.V ? Surely the same legal obsticles apply ? Actors, owners of rights and writers must get something from the repeats, so why can't they get their cut from DVD releases ?? scratch
