One of them was The Deep because I remeber the scene where Lou Gosset Jr get his head crunched by a really big Moray eel (I think).

Yeah, you can have it. It was The Deep in '76, but the '80 film was called The Island and starred Micheal Caine (not a lot of people know that).
The squid movie was The Beast, that came out in 1996.
