| What are your favourite recipes for the festive period ?
Here's my special Christmas Cake Recipe.
Ingredients:
* 2 cups flour * 1 stick butter * 1 cup of water * 1 tsp baking soda * 1 cup of sugar * 1 tsp salt * 1 cup of brown sugar * Lemon juice * 4 large eggs * Nuts * 2 bottle wine * 2 cups of dried fruit
Sample the wine to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the wine again. To be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the wine is still OK. Try another cup... Just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
Pick the frigging fruit up off floor. Mix on the turner.. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the wine to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Check the wine. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or some fink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the wine and wipe counter with the cat. Take a taxi to Tesco and buy sodding cake.

| Alright. This recipe is on the back of a bag of Hershey's Kises, but, Julie made 'em and I've got to tell you . . . these cookies are giving me an FN Santa belly!
So, I'm going to copy it right off the back of the bag for you guys and girls
Peanut Butter Blossoms
Peanut butter cookies with a Hershey's Kisses Brand Milk Chocolate in the center. Prep time: approx. 15 minutes Bake time: approx. 8 minutes. Makes 4 dozen
48 Hershey's Kisses 1/2 cup shortening 3/4 cup Reese's creamy peanut butter 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar 1 egg 2 tablespoons milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt Granulated Sugar
Directions: 1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Remove wrappers from chocolates. 2. Beat Peanut butter and shortening in large bowl until well blended. Add1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into peanut butter mixture. 3. Shape dough into one inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet. 4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a chocolate into center of each cookie. Cookie will crack around edges. remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.

| I don't know how you want to equate it with Christmas, but, I've got to post her recipe for this Mexican "fizole" (sp?) soup I've just polished off. O, man! I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! She's asked both her mom and her dad, and noone seems to know exactly what it should be called - or, rather, what they used to call it. It's made with Beef Shank, hominy, Mexican Oregano, cabbage and carrots. I would prefer that she kept a bowl of the stuff in the kitchen all the time. | |
