It was on Friday but they were away in South Wales. He is 66 but doesn't look a day over 56!
He really is a cool dude, who since I've moved out of home have grown to appreciate, respect and love an awful lot more!

I think that, no scratch that I KNOW that since I moved out in 2003 my relationship with him has improved.
Probably due to that fact that we're no longer clashing with each other at home.

Definitely agree, moving out is the best thing to do to improve your relationship with a parent. I stayed a couple of years too long living with my Mother( R.I.P), mainly because I felt guilty about leaving her on her own. But things got really bad ( probably all my fault ) and I just had to get out. Almost immediately we got on so much better, it was like gaining a new friend.

That's cool, Pete! Much like Roger, I too have lost my dad ( RIP), and you get along, but, it's a different world. Let's raise a toast! Happy, happy birthday to Pete's dad!!! Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!

Pete's Dad had a lovely meal last night in a local pub.
He says thanks for all the well wishes!

Sorry I'm late but Hope his birthday was enjoyable.

I have brothers and sisters older than him.
