ROLLING STONES - LONDON NOVEMBER 2012

Gotta start by saying I love The Stones. Seen them 3 times and they are in a class of their own. Sure in later years they aren't making music like they used to, but I can think of a few bands in a similiar situation!, but the classics are there and simply untouchable.

So, they eventually announce 2 London dates. WOO HOO!!...

Then you see the tix prices £106/£166/£246/£326 & £406...ok, bit steep, but this is a special occasion. 50 years in the business and this could be 'the last time' (see what I did there!!?) to get to see them live.

Considered going upto £246, surely they'd be decent seats and I wouldn't be left up in the dreaded level 4 upper tier of the O2?

WRONG!!! Even the level 4 seats are £246!!! And I'm also being offered lvl4 tix for £326 also!!! I honestly thought that the £246 tix would be the back seats on level 1. I could have accepted that. But no, £246 & £326 for nose bleed seats!

FUCK OFF!!!!!

That's a joke. Lord knows where the £106 seats are!!! Probably outside the venue!!!! So now I'm really left with a dilema. What do I do? Try for a more expensive ticket in hope I can get a half decent seat? But that's £326! And be honest, if you're gonna pay that, what's another £80 for a really good seat!!...

It's like having your arm twisted and forced to fork out WAY over the odds cos otherwise you might as well just buy the DVD. Only time I've ever been in real nose bleed seats was in Montreal 1996 for KISS. Great show but being so far away I just could not get into it. You just feel detached.

And to top it all off, KISS are probably gonna annouce their dates soon!!! I don't have the dough to do The Stones and fork out for KISS shows in the space of a few weeks, especially as I wont get a full months pay until the end of November.

What to do!!!!????

But really, there is no need for bands to charge these prices for tix. It's just greed and the knowledge that, on reputation of who it is, people will pay the prices.

Tho tout sites already have tix for sale with one seller offering tix on the floor for, wait for it, WAIT FOR IT!

£11,000!!!! Yes, that eleven thou... pathetic.

These will sell out though. It's a vicious circle. If people stayed away then prices may be reduced but there'll always be someone who's willing to pay the price...until people stand up to practices like this it'll never change.

Very true and I completely agree.

But I love The Stones and this really could be the last hurrah. I don't want to pay these prices, and tbh, with nose bleed seats at £246 & £326, I'm not prepared to pay that. But I'm gutted.

How can any band justify those prices for seats which are recognised as being 'poor?' If I had the money I'd just bite the bullet and go for floor seats, but I don't and for £400 thats 5 KISS tix. And in all fairness, I love The Stones, but I love KISS more!!!

It's also pissed me off that these are being announced so close to the date itself. If they'd put these dates out a few months ago, that would have given me time to 'recoup' the outgoing, but 1 month gives me no time to build up my bank account again. And I really dont want to max out my credit card on Stones & KISS tix.

Seriously, I'm soo disappointed.

Come Friday, I'll try and see what tix I get offered, but trying to be sensible, I think this is gonna be outta my reach...

Just tried, out of curiousity, to try for 'Brussels Affair' tix. Last night I could have got floor seats, but now it's lvl 1...at the back and they are the top price tix also. So seems all floor AND level 1 tix are £406. I honestly though the floor would be £406, lvl 1 £246 - 326 and lvl 4 the cheaper ones. But how wrong can you be.

I've been in the third from back row at the O2........Unbelieveable !!! I dont' suffer from vertigo but I was genuinely worried, when you stood up your feet were level with the person's in front head. Never again. Still at least it was only Metallica so I didn't miss much.

I agree with the "last ever" comment. IF it was the last time I'd ever get to see a band I might consider paying that sort of money. But we all know how long farewell gigs can last !!!!

OK, I don't suffe3r from vertigo, unless it's high bridges over deep water!, but that sounds freaky!. Seriously doubting I'll bother with this now unless I can get a decent £246 ticket. Not payin more than that for nose bleed seats.

As far as I can ascertain even the very back lvl4 tix were £246. Towards the stage lvl 4 were £349.

Pathetic and ridiculous. These people have more money than they will ever be able to spend. The only reason for stupid prices like these is so the promoter can make a killing. You'd think for a 50th anniversary the band would have stipulated that prices be kept to a reasonable level.

There really is no need for any band to charge these prices.

Understand. Similar to my AC/DC Black Ice tour & Kiss in New Jersey '98 tickets then. Kinda takes the mystique away from the show...

Well from the pics ypu put up of KISS show at least you were sideways looking onto the front of stage. These are literally looking onto the stage from behind. I'm sure you'll prob have a reasonable/good, unobstructed view, but who wants to be lookin at Keefs ass for 2hrs!!!??? And as for seeing any light show or anything...forget it.

I had a side view at the NEC when RUSH played there a few years back and really, show wise, it was pretty pointless. Sure you saw the flames and stuff but it isn't the best place to view from. Really you need to be at forwards of the stage to get any real idea of what the show itself is.

Ah. I didn't realise you did more than 1 show!

You know I actually don't like 'in the round' shows. When you look at the stage it bugs me that the 'background' is just people!! Having a solid backdrop defines the lights better and gives you a definate focus point. In the round, to me, means the band has to cover all aspects/areas of the stage otherwise some peeps end up looking at an empty stage!
