Classy indeed. Especially as he went himself and not as a face of Warner Bros.

Shame he's actually a prize tool to his fans, work collegues & the press!

All sorts of reprts about him snubbing the fans & press at the London Premier and there's the now infamous rant on set during the last Terminator film to some 'underling'.

From all accounts he's not easy to work with at all.

Does that really matter when he takes time out of his calendar to do something like this? He may well be a prick most of the times but in this instance he's shown himself to be a class act...

Oh and Terminator:Salvation was utter, utter, utter shite!!! Maybe Mr Bale realised this and that's why he went off on one (prickish behaviour or not)?

I was really happy to see him do this and like you said Pete on his own and not as a Warner Brother rep.

I had a friend see that yell at a crew member on the set live. Alot of people make him out to be a bad guy. The video clip showed it out of context just to make is gossip worthy. The guy he yelled at earned it. I dont know about the other times but I know in that case its not true and my friend Guy loves to throw an actor under the bus for being a dick. Not this time

Really cool that he showed up to see all those people and didnt make it a press event.

Not saying this wasn't a cool thing for him to do!!!

But like most people in the public eye, I just think they have an eye on the PR it gets them also.

Cynical? Me? Nah!!!!... lol!

But ultimately...he didn't have to do this so kudo's... Very Happy

It's possibly an unfortunate aspect of being in the public eye these days that anyone who is, just seems to be 'me, me, me' and how I can make 'me' look good.

Problem is, when someone does do something out of goodness, I just see an ulerior motive as most of these fame hunger assholes are all we get fed by the even bigger assholes, the media, who promote these idiots and give their pathetic little egos some validation.

If we had 'stars' who had actually done something to deserve their fame and not just have prats who are famous for doing, well...nothing, then my cynisism wouldn't be quite as bad!

Erm, yes, quite.

Changing the subject, Lawrence Clarke our 110 hurdler. How refreshing to have someone celebrating their efforts and be pleased with their placing, rather than have some whinging, blubbing, twit saying "I've let everyone down" after winning a Silver medal. Rolling Eyes
I loved Clarke's attitude, ..........
Clarke had qualified for the final with a personal best earlier in the evening and delivered in style after his team-mate Andy Turner had failed to progress from the semis.

Clarke said: "I can't believe I came fourth in the Olympic Games. I clashed arms with the South African [Lehann Fourie] and he's built like an American footballer, so maybe I would have run a PB, but I couldn't have got a medal - 13.12 secs for bronze is ridiculous.

"I treated the semi like a final and ran a personal best. I'm really pleased I was here. The crowd was amazing. My coach, Malcolm Arnold, has taken me from running 15.3 secs to 13.3 secs. I can't thank him enough."

He's only 22 so could be one to watch for in Rio.

He really is the model for sportsmanship. It really really bothers me how some of these athletes have just the worst attitude.

That arrogant prick who just won the Tour De France & got a gold medal at the Olympics really pissed me off with his 'The only medal that counts is gold' speal. Going on about how Bronze is 'worthless'. How long did it take for you to win something as big as the Tour De France and the Olympics, I wonder? Idiot.

Then he mouths off about not being a celebrity and wanting a normal life and the next thing you know he's out there as a celeb at the Stone Roses gig hamming it up and getting photograhed with all the stars who were there.

Again...idiot.

I really enjoyed watching those athletes who've won a medal and been so happy, no matter what colour, and I've also enjoyed watching those who didn't win anything and were just so happy to have had the opportunity to be at the Olympics.
