good to know you find my present misery amuzing...

I have often told you stories
About the way
I lived the life of a drifter
Waiting for the day
When I'd take your hand
And sing you songs
Then maybe you would say
Come lay with me love me
And I would surely stay

Actually...YES!!!!!!

But also Coverdale tbh...they both brought a bit of soul to Purple that they just didn't have before. While I love Machine Head & In Rock they do sound very dated. Burn & Stormbringer, to me, do not. They are just simply outstanding albums which just sound as good today as when they came out.

I asked Glenn how he (and Coverdale) managed to change the sound of such an established band in such a short space of time and he replied that he was simply allowed the freedom to bring in what he thought were good tunes and that Jon Lord especially encouraged them to do so but Blackmore just wasn't that kean! Which going by the sort of music he's presently doing is actually quite a surprise. Medeval ain't exactly rock!!
