| Eddie Van Halen has told RollingStone.com that his son Wolfgang Van Halen, 17 — who spent the last year on the road with his dad's band VAN HALEN, playing bass — is a "permanent" member of the group.
"Wolfie had it the toughest on tour: he had three or four hours of [tutoring] every day, and then the gig," Eddie Van Halen told RollingStone.com. "I yanked him out of school for 11th grade, which is actually the most important year, because that's what they go by for college. And the school said, 'We're not going to let him back in, if you pull him out, because we've never done that before.' Well, first time for everything, dude, you know? They did let him back for 12th grade, because he wanted to graduate with his buddies."
Eddie Van Halen said he's writing new songs for the next time VAN HALEN take the road. "I've got tons of music written, such a variety of stuff," Eddie told RollingStone.com. "The essence of me is obviously there, and those drums, they're always recognizable. But people expect a certain thing from VAN HALEN, and this isnt exactly bang-your-head-against-the-wall stuff.

Btw, welcome bro I'm with you it better be Dave or go home...I put up with them having all the stand-ins and still calling themselves Van Halen...No disrespect to Sammy but it was just a different band and not Van Halen with him. Now with Michael gone and wolf boy in his place I for one can barely tolerate them anymore and I don't care how good Eddie is, he's seems like such a dick! I want to see Dave if they play live and still call themselves Van Halen if not change your name and go in a different direction. I for one saw them live in there hey day! I think anyone will agree you can never get that out of your head and replace it with something else, its just not the same!

| Judging from some of the clips I've seen on YouTube I don't think DLR is much of a fan of Wolfie! He really gives him some stick when Wolfie messes up his one line "C'mon Dave give us a break" and just plain ignores him when he tries to approach Dave on numerous occasions. Mike was a major part of the VH sound...that chunky bass and his backing vocals. But while it's not the same without him I'd rather have a VH without Mike than DLR...without question. But in regards to the album - matty35 wrote:

that worries me! And I'm sure DLR will be on it..it wouldn't make sence to do it without him...would it?
