Is this true? 2013-04-01-kiss2
Hard rock and heavy metal veterans KISS announced today, April 1, 2013, that founding members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are leaving the band and going into retirement at the end of this year, while the band will go on as KISS II, a lineup featuring NO original members, beginning in 2014.
Before Simmons and Stanley, who formed the group in New York City 40 years ago, can officially begin their quiet rock and roll-free nights and party-less days, they must fulfill their current record company contract for one more album. Therefore, the long-time musical partners have agreed to finally do the sequel to The Elder with Bob Ezrin, stating that the original 1981 album now has a cult following, and they are thinking “long-term” for the fans. The sequel will be called The Elder Reloaded.

As for KISS II, their first album will include covers of the original band’s songs, plus some new tunes written by existing members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. New band members will include Ryan Martinie from Mudvayne taking over for Gene Simmons, with Michael Starr from Steel Panther stepping in up front for Paul Stanley.
The album by KISS II is said to be called Even Peter Criss Doesn’t Want To Be Peter Criss. The release will follow the long-awaited Seth McFarlane adaptation of KISS Saves Santa, first seen on Family Guy.
When asked about this sudden departure from KISS, Simmons replied, “It doesn’t matter who’s in the band, I still get paid,” while Stanley released a video statement on the announcement.
When asked for comment regarding KISS II, original lead guitarist Ace Frehley stated, "Don’t you fucking get it?, I just want to be left alone, fuck off!" Original drummer, Peter Criss could not be reached for comment, but reportedly last seen rolling around in a snow-like powdered substance.

Taken from Classic Rock Magazine interview with Gene Simmons..............................................

Moving away from sports, if not money, there are rumours of a Kiss doing a spring tour of the UK in 2014.
That’s true. And as an avowed Anglophile I can’t wait. But the UK is a very strange place; it really is like the Hobbit world, a magical kingdom. The Europeans call you European but the English don’t. You’re a very small island surrounded by water. You didn’t invent rock’n’roll or blues or jazz, but you strange little people with your strange foods and odd colloquialisms created the music that rules the world – The Beatles, the Stones, The Who, Zeppelin ad infinitum – and you continue to do so.

Would you consider playing as part of a package with Mötley Crüe, with whom you toured the US last summer?
No. We’re thinking of a fortieth anniversary celebration. We have the spider stage prop, which does everything except give birth. I don’t want to give away the other thing we’re going to do, but [adopts Cockney accent] it will be a right proper celebration.

........... I do hope this is true and not just the usual we get from Gene.
