Quote :
Anthrax have released their cover version of Boston track Smokin’. Hear it below.

It’s taken from their covers EP Anthems, which also includes tracks originally recorded by Rush, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Cheap Trick and Journey.

Smokin’ includes a keyboard solo by Fred Mandel after drummer Charlie Benante admitted none of the band could play the instrument well enough.

He recently told Music Radar: “You’ll always hear Boston blasting out of our dressing rooms or our bus. It’s one of those timeless records that doesn’t have a bad track on it. It’s almost like a greatest-hits album. When I hear it, I think back to being young, it’s the summertime, and people are driving by in their cars crankin’ Boston.”

Anthems is released on March 22 (March 19 in North America).
