Megadeth's "End Game" Lands At The Number 9 Position On The Billboard 200
Tue Oct 06, 2009 7:42 pm by Matty35
Megadeth's new album, "Endgame," has sold 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD sold 8,200 units in Canada to land at No. 4 on the country's official chart.

Megadeth's previous CD, "United Abominations," sold around 54,000 copies in the U.S. to debut at No. 8. This was more than the 46,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "The System Has Failed" (which landed at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart), and was a bit less than the 61,000 opening number of 2001's "The World Needs A Hero" (No. 16).

"Endgame" first-week chart positions:

Canada: #4
USA: #9
Australia: #11
Germany: #21
U.K.: #24
Italy: #26
Ireland: #27

"Endgame" was recorded at Megadeth's brand new, self-built studio in San Marcos, California — Vic's Garage — which was named after the legendary and iconic Vic Rattlehead character. The CD was produced by Dave Mustaine and British producer Andy Sneap.

Megadeth and Slayer will team up for the Canadian Carnage East five-date tour in November. The tour begins on November 8th in Moncton, NB and ends in Toronto on November 13th. The tour will feature Machine Head and Suicide Silence, and will see Megadeth and Slayer alternating the closing spot. Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 18th at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Megadeth and Slayer previously played together in four Canadian cities earlier in June when they joined up for the first Canadian Carnage, marking the first time the bands had shared a stage anywhere in 18 years.
